in that it increases ticket use for both the ticket purchaser and the venue. Ticket Exchange is really about allowing
ticket purchasers to exchange their event tickets for a similar event in the future, for other seats, other events, or
to forward their tickets to others with the approval of the event venue. The venue either keeps an inventory of tickets
available for exchange, or executes the exchange from the total inventory of seats available for the event.
Ticket purchasers can find out about other options for their event, or other events, through the Internet thus avoiding
the inconvenience of having to investigate their options through a main Point-of-Sale box office.
For the venue, an automated ticket exchange system is much less costly than keeping its main box office open to handle exchanges.
In addition, Ticket Exchange better handles demand during extreme circumstances, such as when an event is cancelled and demand
for ticket exchange is high.
