RepeatSeat, Inc., the fastest growing provider of Internet
ticketing solutions, is pleased to announce their newest ticketing partners,
Manhattan-based Urban Stages and Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
Off Broadway productions have been reeling in the aftermath of September 11th,
but as they recover RepeatSeat will be part of the process. RepeatSeat President
George Davidson said, We are proud to participate in the rebuilding
of Off Broadway
business, and thrilled that both Urban Stages and Tribeca Performing Arts
Center have chosen us to be their Internet ticketing partner.
It is Urban Stages mission to discover, develop and produce plays that speak
to the whole of society. Their goals are to develop plays by ethnically
diverse playwrights, present them to audiences in underserved neighborhoods,
and provide an opportunity for playwrights to test and produce their works
to larger audiences while providing free theatre to individuals and neighborhoods
often deprived of the experience. Urban Stages next production is
Circumference of A Squirrel,
February 12 through March 17, 2002, by John Walch, winner of the 2000 Kennedy
Center Award for New Plays, directed by T.L. Reilly, Producing Director
of Urban Stages with Paul Sparks, 1999 Drama Desk nominee for Best Actor
in a Drama. This will be followed by The Sweepers, March 26 through May
5, 2002, by John Piccardi, young playwright and novelist, winner of the
Mary Marlin Fisher Award for Outstanding Achievement in Playwriting, directed
by Frances Hill, Artistic Director of Urban Stages.
The Tribeca Performing Arts Center is located at the Borough of Manhattan Community
College, a few blocks from the World Trade Centre site. The Centers
mission as a producing/presenting/rental organization includes: providing
multi-disciplinary performances with a culturally diverse focus for underserved
audiences including school children, seniors and members of community-based
organizations; commissioning and supporting the growth of emerging theater,
music and dance artists by providing rehearsal space, technical and administrative
support, and producing the performances of New York; presenting multi-disciplinary
arts in education programs for young audiences that will supplement their
school
curriculum; providing performing arts events for families to enjoy together.
Upcoming productions include The Family Folk & Fairy Tales Series, Lost
Jazz Shrines Series, and the Artists in Residence Program.
